Towards an Empowering Independence 2022!

Anupama, 14 years, is the student of Class IX, S.S. Vidya Niketan School, village Nithari. Originally from Bihar, Anupama’s family is shackled in the saga of migration, displacement and struggle of livelihood in Noida. Access to online tools of learning is practically not possible for the family.
Thanks to HP-CLAP that Anupama is now equipped with 21st Century skills. She is digitally literate & is well prepared to nurture her dream to become an IPS officer

Thanks CLAP for Khushi to be Khush!

Daughter of a factory worker, Khushi lives in an extended family of parents, two siblings, grandparents and an aunt in Surajpur. Khushi’s father is the sole earning member of the family. Khushi studies in Class VIII in KCS Girls Inter College, a low cost private school. Her school studies had miserably suffered during the pandemic. The family had no means to buy a digital tool like a computer. She used her father’s smart phone to access the school lessons but this opportunity was neither regular nor persistent.

Under CLAP, when Khushi held a laptop, she placed it upside down. When she clicked a key, she was nervous and hesitant. After persistent training, Khushi learnt not only the correct technique of using the laptop but also learnt the use of internet for information and knowledge.

Such is the confidence that Khushi is now a proud Digital Device User and is ready to help others to become digitally literate.

First in family to know & understand Technology

Meet Tannu Rajput, an immensely enthusiastic girl completing her 10th grade presently. She aims to achieve the most out of her education in the government inter-college that she is a part of. Tannu has a comparatively big family, which consists of her father namely Mr. Rampal Singh, mother – Pushpa Devi, and 4 children (including Tannu) out of which two are boys and two are girls. This family runs on the income of the father figure as he is the only breadwinner, he works as a driver. While tannu expresses her needs and expectations, she also spills out the problem of having 4 children in the family, as it cuts short the resources for each one of them which can be provided in a meagre income of her father. She expresses the need to be connected with the technology because she understands its significance in the contemporary times, but she is unable to fulfil her learnings at her home due to the non-availability of a laptop.

Thus the initiative of CLAP highly engrossed her and also made her hopeful about being able to utilise her capabilities and be the first one to know the usage of a laptop in her family. Tannu added further that she hadn’t been a part of any computer course before CLAP due to which she was unfamiliar with the basics.
After the CLAP intervention, tannu felt very thoughtful about the class and benefited, but at the same time she had hoped to gain more conceptual knowledge through more classes. Overall, this has made her far sighted that CLAP would come up with more such initiatives in upcoming times.

Epitome of Motivation

Neha Sharma, a 15 year old girl, as determined as a rock. She is a 10th grader and is continuing her education in the Vedik Kanya Inter College situated at Dadri. She has a family of 5 members, which includes her Father — Mr Lokesh Sharma, her mother and her 2 other siblings. Her father figure is fulfilling their needs by getting himself associated with blue collar jobs and her mother is a homemaker. Neha perceives their financial condition to be running smoothly for now as they haven’t had any major setbacks in the past.

Neha remained highly active and productive during the class and she even gave her feedback about CLAP by writing in the text pad of the laptop and expressed her gratitude towards the initiative.
