Skilling & Livelihood

Adobe Youth Voices is a program to ignite young people’s Creative Confidence – the ability to harness creative skills to solve problems – using advanced digital media tools and tested storytelling techniques. The main tenet of the program is that with greater creativity, and a greater belief in their own abilities, young people will be more engaged in their education and better prepared for a fast-changing global economy.

Youth develop original media that highlights an issue they care about, identify solutions, and in the process foster critical creative skills and a passion to make a difference.

Started with 30 Ugta Suraj and other community children in village Nithari, Noida, the program enabled children to get trained in digital literacy and create original media using sophisticated tools and equipment for shooting, recording, and processing. The program has enabled children to identify, feel and express their concern for specific issues through media creations – from videos to essays, animation to music – enabled through Adobe software and tools.

Government schools (U.P.)

What began in 2014-15 as JEEWAN KI SAMAJH – FROM LITERACY TO EDUCATION for government school children transformed in nature into an endeavor to empower Adolescent Youth taking into cognizance the age that poses several challenges in life and needs a balanced and healthy approach to grow into adulthood.

The program continues over 2016-17 to 2017-18 with an aim to cover around 3000 young adolescent youth studying across 30 Government schools in District Gautum Budh Nagar in the state of U.P. Through this endeavor, we aim to equip the youth with psycho-social competence to be able to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life with following main objectives:

  • An adulthood to take up the role of responsible citizenship;
  • A meaningful and productive life
  • Channelizing youth energy in a meaningful direction &
  • Diversion from the path of delinquency and violence

Migrant Women

Along with youth, we have also imparted trainings to migrant women. The migrant women are, by and large, devoid of any skill that may fetch them decent livelihood options to choose from. As a result, they work as domestic help for basic cleaning, washing and cooking on minimum nominal wages.

Since 2009, a total of 300 women and young girls have been skilled in Beauty culture, artificial jewellery making, stitching & tailoring, paper bags making etc. These women have been from village Nithari. The trained persons are now encouraged to take up their training further and convert it into micro-level income generation activities. Imparting Beauty Culture training in village Nithari, Nwada, Rasoolpur, Agahpr, Harola and Nayabans. The Resource Group for Sarthak for Migrant Women is Roshni: Lioness Club, Noida which is the women wing of Lions Club.
