Riyaj Mohd: Project Coordinator – Access to Justice ( Gautam Buddh Nagar)

Riyaz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from IGNOU where he learnt the basic sociological concepts, theories and their relevance in social context. His interest in this subject has led him pursue for Master’s in Sociology. His academic background provides a strong foundation for his work, which blends theoretical knowledge with practical application. With more than two years of experience in teaching and fieldwork, Riyaz has contributed significantly to organizations like Kayantar Foundation and Learning Initiatives for India Foundation. His work has focused on community engagement, capacity building, and educational development, gaining him a deep understanding of the social challenges faced by marginalized communities.
In addition to his field experience, Riyaz has been a part of a collaborative multi-states research project across Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal in partnership with the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (USA). This research experience not only broadened his perspective on social issues but also enhanced his skills in data collection, analysis, and report writing.
Currently, Riyaz is working as the Project Coordinator and lead for the Access to Justice program, implemented in Gautum Budh Nagar and Mathura in UP. He is leading the initiatives for designing and implementing ground initiatives aimed at improving access to legal services for underserved populations. His leadership, combined with his strong academic and practical background, enables him to drive impactful change in the communities he serves.
