Mansukh Singh Walla, BBA(GES) Student, UPES, Dehradun, Intern at SADRAG

My Journey with SADRAG:-

Spending one and a half months working with SADRAG has been an enlightening and transformative experience. As a volunteer for this esteemed NGO, I had the opportunity to contribute to their mission of improving the lives of children and promoting gender equality.

Involvement in Child Education:-

One of my primary roles was participating in child education programs. I taught basic subjects, and engaged with the children through interactive activities. The enthusiasm and eagerness to learn displayed by the children were heartwarming. Watching their faces light up with understanding and curiosity was immensely gratifying. These moments underscored the importance of education in shaping young minds and futures.

Advocacy and Awareness:

In addition to education, I was involved in advocacy and awareness activities. SADRAG’s efforts to combat gender-based violence and promote gender equality are commendable. I participated in distributing informational materials. These activities highlighted the deep-seated issues faced by many individuals and the critical role of education and awareness in driving social change.

Building Connections:-

Working closely with the NGO  was another significant aspect of my experience. I had the privilege of interacting with various people. These interactions provided valuable insights into the NGO’s needs and the collaborative efforts required to address them. Building these connections was crucial in understanding the multifaceted nature of social work and the importance of a united approach.

Personal and Professional Growth:-

The supportive and passionate team at SADRAG made my journey even more enriching. Their dedication to the cause and their willingness to mentor and guide me was invaluable. I learned about  management, effective communication, and the importance of empathy and resilience in social work. Every day presented new challenges and learning opportunities, contributing to both my personal and professional growth.

Reflecting on the Impact:-

As my tenure with SADRAG comes to an end, I reflect on the impact this experience has had on me. It has broadened my understanding of social issues, reinforced my commitment to contributing to meaningful change, and inspired me to continue working in the non-profit sector. The knowledge and experiences gained during this period are something I will carry forward in all my future endeavors.

Working with SADRAG has been more than just a volunteering opportunity; it has been a journey of learning, growth, and inspiration. I am grateful for the chance to contribute to such a noble cause and look forward to staying connected with the NGO and its mission. My time at SADRAG has been a testament to the power of collective effort and the significant difference it can make in the lives of individuals and communities.
